In May 2011, the United Nations Population Division released theirWorld Population Prospects, a set of population projections out to the year 2100 for the planet earth and for individual countries. The United Nations expects the global population to reach 9 billion in the year 2043. The next set of population projections will be issued by the United Nations in 2013. What follows is a listing of the twenty most populous countries in the year 2050, presuming no significant boundary changes between now and then.
